The operator of the popular Dominos Pizza chain in India, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd on July 25, 2012 that it plans to open 100 Dunkin’ Donut outlets in India in the next five years. In the month of May Dunkin’ Donuts the leading baked food and coffee chain of US chose Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL) as their Franchise.

JFL in a statement said, “Having initiated the launch of Dunkin’ Donuts in India JFL will scale up this brand in a systematic manner over a period of time…over a five year time horizon JFL plans to launch 80-100 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in India”. At present the company has three Dunkin’ Donut restaurants in the country and is planning to have at least ten by the end of the fiscal year.

Jubilant FoodWorks on July 25 posted a 39.63 percent rise in profits at Rs.32.34 for the first quarter which ended on June 30, 2012 on account of higher sales. Overall the total income from the operations went up to Rs. 314.50 crores for the quarter under consideration against Rs. 216.91 crores for the same period a year back.

The company has also said that it plans to open 5 to 6 Dominoes Pizza stores in Sri Lanka during the current financial year to scale up to 30 stores in the next five years.
